About This Lesson

This article starts with the Geneva Convention definition of war crimes and then has the International Criminal Court definition of crimes against humanity. Students must read the article about the Holocaust and while reading, annotate anytime they read something that could be considered a war crime, a crime against humanity, or both. When finished, there are two questions: 1) Should the Holocaust be considered a war crime or crime against humanity? and 2) Should the US have bombed concentration camps?
