About This Lesson

Over two 90-minute lessons students will learn about the process of amending the American Constitution through study of the 19th Amendment. Students will examine the gender stereotypes and several primary sources to understand the competing arguments leading up to ratification. Finally, students will explore the power of individual activists and decision makers during this time and consider their role in fighting for an issue or cause today. SEL skills center on social awareness.
