About This Lesson

This is the first of eight lessons from a kindergarten geometry unit titled "It's Hip to Be Square." In this lesson, students will learn and practice how to describe the position of objects using terms such as "above, below, beside, in front of, etc." Included in these resources is an outline listing the other 7 lessons that make up this unit. Aligned to Common Core State Standard: K.G.1

I used this with my ELL students at the high school level. I've always hated trying to teach these words to NEP students, but the cards, the poster, the photos all helped them to understand the differences between these words.
