      About This Lesson

      In this lesson, students view a photo essay about a sheep farmer and examine how she offers an alternative to mass production. Local textile cultures called "fibersheds" offer an alternative to mass production by seeking to utilize regional agriculture, enhance ecological balance, and strengthen communities.
