About This Lesson
The purpose of this module is to prepare Pre-AP English students for AP Language and Composition by teaching them the basics of analyzing the elements of rhetoric that authors use to make their writing more effective. Students will demonstrate their understanding of rhetorical elements by independently analyzing a piece of non-fiction text and writing an essay describing the way the author uses specific rhetorical devices and the overall effect these devices have on the text.
