I made this to use in assembly so children would have an idea of from where the whole St Valentine’s celebration came from. I make no claims for authenticity; this is info I gleaned from internet searches and made into a very basic story for younger children. Everyone at our school in Australia loved this resource. Just enough to cover Valentine's Day and also to discuss versions of history.

Good resource presentation for background knowledge. Could be used to introduce topic, then read story of St. Valentine.
