About This Lesson

Students will learn about discrimination and segregation in the military during World War II and develop college- and career-ready reading and writing skills. Students will learn to determine the figurative, connotative, or technical meaning of words or phrases in a text. Students will also engage in one-on-one, teacher-led, and group discussions, and also learn how to write write informative/explanatory texts that convey ideas and concepts using relevant information that is carefully selected and organized.
