About This Lesson

Students will be able to define similarity in terms of transformations. Students will be able to determine if figures are similar. Students will be able to explain similarity transformations using corresponding pairs of angles and proportionality of corresponding sides. Students will be able to graph figures on a coordinate plane and apply similarity transformations. Students will be able to develop the AA criterion for proving two triangles to be similar. Students will be able to solve problems involving similar triangles and prove relationships in geometric figures.
