About This Lesson

This will be a Unit Plan for an English Language Learner (ELL) students working on reading skills of high frequency words in on-level (emergent) books throughout the course of one week. This unit plan is for a low-level reader and elementary school ELL. This unit will help students realize the connection between common high frequency words and the identification that the sounds of the letters in these words make, in other words, to orally decode common high frequency words. Aligned with Common Core State Standard: RF.3.3

Great activity. I also have ELL students with limited language and I feel this would be effective in helping them learn their words.
