Freedom to teach means that I am respected and supported by all stakeholders of the institution, as I try to facilitate students in an effective manner.

In so doing, I will utilize the 21st Century teaching strategies so as to equip students with the skills needed to function effectively in our evolving society.

I really like that idea. The future of work and society is constantly changing, and its important that teachers equip the students with the necessary skills to be able to handle that change. Thank you!

The freedom to teach is having the right to teach.

It means having an access to all possible opportunities for a teacher to educate minds ,not because of state tests or of school directives. It is all about nurturing the holistic development of the students, guided and supported by a high level of positive parental involvement and school administrative support.

Freedom to teach means being able to use and apply what we know works for students. It means being able to teach and facilitate in the way the each student learns best. It means being able to use our creativity to engage students and develop their passion for learning. It means being able to go home to our own families and feel like the professionals we are and know that we did important work that will DEFINITELY lead to success.

Freedom to teach means be respected as a professional and understanding that I know what is best for my students. As a resource specialist, it is very important to understand that all students are different. In order to meet their needs, we have to be free to differentiate instruction, provide interventions and make each lesson work for them!

Freedom to teach means no restraints or hindrances to the profession of teaching. Scholars should feel safe about learning in all aspects and teachers should feel the freedom of teaching about life and not only about certain curricula. As a life long learner, I feel we should and can always learn. There are so many avenues of education and as teachers we should be using all of them. Media plays a heavy part in teaching in this century and to this generation. Children learn differently as adults do and we cannot limit or hinder their learning in any way.

Freedom to teach means students have the freedom to learn.

We know each student is unique and as a result, there is a variety of learning needs in every classroom. A teacher should seek to meet a learner where they are and have the freedom/ flexibility to facilitate individual growth. There isn’t a single prescription that treats all sickness, so why would we treat our students as if one prescription would meet all of their needs?
