Hello everyone!

Brenda from Los Angeles. I am excited to join this community; first time attending AFT's conference. Currently, I am a Librarian at a Middle School and am entering my 39th year in education. Learning never gets old for me. Needless to say, I am excited by number of offerings but am especially looking forward to the SEL, equity and strategies to engage student voice among others for which I have signed up. I am feeling grateful at this moment in time for the opportunity to participate in such an endeavor and thank those who have planned and will present these workshops!

Nice to meet you, Brenda. I'm also a librarian but taught ESOL more so. Did you teach a classroom subject also?

Are you attending a Mental Health, SEL and Trauma-Sensitive Practices webinar? Why are you choosing to attend (or did attend) a webinar on this topic?

How will the webinar help you in supporting your students’ mental health? Any questions you are still pondering following the conclusion of the webinar?

I will attend at least one and might watch others' recordings. Due to the effects of the pandemic and Biden's focus, I believe Every educator requires SEL training/retraining for students, themselves, and coworkers

Jey from Minnesota here.

I love the March conference! It is at the time of the school year that I need to recharge myself. This year I am most excited about the options for distance learning, reopening schools and learning recovery. I try to view and participate in a webinar in as many different topics as I can.

For those attending the Keynote: Roadmap for Excellence in History and Civics for All Learners with Danielle Allen, share why you are excited to attend this webinar.

How will the strategies introduced in this keynote impact how you integrate history and civics into your lessons? What lingering questions and thoughts do you still have following the conclusion of the webinar?

I'm excited since reading in Pew Forum that only 43% of American adults knew that Hitler was elected democratically. You can see this and more in my attached screenshot.

Carol from San Antonio, Texas.

I am a Middle School Reading Specialist. I am looking forward to the webinar on Group Work. I am always looking for new ideas to use with my struggling readers.

Hi, I haven't gotten to enjoy San Antonio which people rave about but I attended UT Austin for my MS in Library and Information Science.

Looking forward to attending Randi Weingarten’s Keynote: The State of Public Education 2021?

What are you most looking forward to learning? If you already attended the event, what was something you learned about the state of public education? What questions do you still have following the webinar?

I am writing you as a California Retired Teacher concerning the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset. (GPO). It is my understanding that if my husband dies before me, I will get very little or none of his social security. This is unfair to many public employees in 15 states. I worked 40 years while raising a family and putting my husband through college so he could learn a living. Now we are both retired and he is a 5 year cancer survivor. WEP and GPO are very unfair and need to be repealed. Rodney Davis introduced H.R 82 to do this and I ask for your support and that you encourage both Republicans and Democrats to support this bill. Also, there is no place to email you on topics not listed on the Secretary of Education site. Do you have an email you recommend?
