About This Lesson
This lesson integrates music with storytelling. It is appropriate for music classrooms with children of multiple ages or single-age classrooms.
This lesson has children reviewing "Bobby Shaftoe" (as a poem) and learning a simple la-so-mi melody for it. Children create a "sound story" on xylophones for one of Bobby Shaftoe's adventures and also a 4-beat melody.
